While I don't have any proof, I'd say it's safe to assume that steal attack only affects the user, ie. your odds are the same. This is just assuming that it works in the same way that killing things with Kanmon magatama/Usumidori etc. will not increase the ryou gain of your pt members.

-I'll edit here if I manage to get proof or if someone beats me to it.

Edit: so.. I went to Room of Rites (Hell mode) in a 2 man pt and tested this (at the infinite respawn spot)
Conclusion: Steal attack has no effect on pt members

I tried to search on "smelt" and "evolve" and a combination of the two, but was unable to find anything clearly answering my question.

So if anyone could help, I would really like to know;
If I have a rank 4 skill that is double evolvable; if i smelt it from 4 to 5; will it still be evolvable to 6?

Or do I need to evolve it twice?

Basically, I'd like to save some time and smelt instead of leveling the skill all the way to 40 for the first evolve; but would that make it impossible to get to lv6 later?

Yes. Skills evolution V works in the same way as skill evolution so it should go from triple border to double border.

I actually tested it a little later after posting with some random loot weapon with 2 4s and a double evolvable 2; it's certainly nice that the smelt doesn't cancel out the second evolution, just saved a LOT of time leveling up rank 4; smelted to 5 now, still got a bit of grinding to do to max 5 for final evolve (unfortunately, i recently extracted the lv 5) but I got the lv 5 skill on 3 weapons so it shouldn't be too rough
