Arg, I seem unable to find a weap I like. also some Q's.

I've tried Bow: Meh, without rapid shot the cooldowns suck, and lack of aoe damage kinda sucks, almost every dual blade attack can hit mutiple targets.

Dualblades: decently nice, but I'd like some bigger aoe's

Wand: Skills cost way to much sp to use compared to any other class its pretty rediclous.

I've also tried staff but didn't care for it really. The bow/dual blades is the same char, since I never ever get bows at all, I get like 20 of everything else to 1 bow, its like the game is racist towards bow users or something. So I been swapping between the 2.

Can ougi's appear naturally on a weap or is that the pay2win aspect in this game? Same for skills above rank IV.

Next weapon type I am going to try is one of the pow weapons, Not really intersted in Axe, but the great sword or sword might work, however I am worried about the great sword's speed, does it have decent range on their attacks? What about aoe damage? My issue with sword is I hear its Durability and SP heavy.

Also, what the hell is with like every quest ALWAYS giving sword affinity+ stuff? didn't the devs think people would play anything else? I mean out of all the 1-40 quests, 80% of them give Magatama's for sword users and nothing for anyone else.

Bow skills like White/Rainbow Peacock, Lightning Flash Shot, Arrow Rain/Meteor Rain Shot, Icicle Arrow/Icicle Storm all are able to deal aoe damage, also Amaya clears out everything but I assume you just mean regular skills and not ougis.

Dualblades: decently nice, but I'd like some bigger aoe's

Twin swords aren't meant for aoe, but they do have ougis with aoe capabilities.

Wand: Skills cost way to much sp to use compared to any other class its pretty rediclous.

They are ridiculously overpowered anyways, if you put stats into wis you are able to reduce the sp cost every 10 points (someone else might give you a better explanation)

You just have bad luck, or you aren't looking at the right places.

There are weapons that do have natural ougis like the garg weapons, and the Satan weapons. As for skills, they do appear naturally on weapons. I believe it is affected by Shizuka's identification level, or for crafted weapons Yoshitsune's sword smith level.

Next weapon type I am going to try is one of the pow weapons, Not really intersted in Axe, but the great sword or sword might work, however I am worried about the great sword's speed, does it have decent range on their attacks? Can't really say as I am a bow user, but if you are worried about the durability and sp costs on those weapons. I'll have you know spears/bow have huge dura costs from their skills as well as sp, wands also have a huge sp cost even with the sp reduction.

Also, what the hell is with like every quest ALWAYS giving sword affinity+ stuff? didn't the devs think people would play anything else? I mean out of all the 1-40 quests, 80% of them give Magatama's for sword users and nothing for anyone else.

I believe this was due to the fact that the sword was the most popular weapon in the JP version, I could be wrong though.

Are you only using 1 weapon by any chance? Cool down should also get reduced as you add more dex.

Not much else to say. Wis reduces sp cost (up to 100 sp at 100 wis) for wand and staff.

Up to VII can be id'd. It would be rare to get VII skills in smithed weapons simply because it takes time to smith a weapon. Cards are the only reliable way. Getting three V rank skills is easy, though (using skill evolution V from smelting).

Yeah, this and bargain magatama aren't really balanced much.

Drop rates are also pretty skewed, I mean I get like 20+ sword/odachi/axe red/golds to one bow. As a wannabe bow user this is annoying. I am also tired of the skill cards always seeming to remove the skill I want to keep, its like its rigged to always remove the most useful skill it has. I'd prefer if you can choose what skill gets removed.

There also needs to be a way you can say just hit 1 and then the skill activates, having to hit a key, then rclick is annoying and most mmo's in onigiri style let you use skills both ways. Its mostly annoying when your weapon has 2 somewhat useful skills then a 3rd useless one, like a bow with 2 ranged skills then one of the kick skills or the backstep. Then again maybe I am just lazy :P.

Getting friendship items is turning into a nightmare, that 10 lv higher thing needs to be extended to maybe 15 or 20 levels higher, because damn, it is WAY to easy to outlevel content before you can even access it. I am actually avoiding using any +exp things because I find we level too fast as it is.

Also in a party, does everyone get their own seperate drops? so there is no fighting over loot etc?

I feel you on the friendship items drop rate...currently having trouble with it myself, and it gets worse as it goes on. The reason why we level up so fast early on is because back in Onigiri's early stages it was IMPOSSIBLE to level up, and everyone complained about it. C$ EVENTUALLY increased the EXP amounts in increments through spaced out updates, and now it's at this EXP gain. Now people complain about leveling to fast, which is ironic, but it's still a problem. Best thing to do is try to manage your grinding as much as possible to stop over-leveling.

Yes, everyone gets their own drops, so there is no fighting over loop. (See? They get some things right...)

To be honest, your best bet is; if you cannot deal with this games' foolery, your best off not playing it. Things people are currently complaining about haven't changed in about a year and a half...doesn't seem like they ever will.

Tl;dr

If going for pow weps then axe and odachi are good but they are heavily ougi dependant early on. A great but risky way to play ace is to stay at low hp and use double edge cut, but that strat isn't as good until you get better weps (such as garg). Odachi people love using ougi shining enema slash.

Spear is good and cheap. Just spam water dragon spear. Only downside is you throw skill points into Vit which is argueably the worst stat (gives hp and hp recovery)

Don't forget that it also adds phy & mag def to your protection, but it doesn't matter since you're gonna die in one hit regardless to your armor. :\

You're just unlucky I think. I have a pure bow user who doesn't have that much trouble getting bows. She's been pretty fortunate so far. I strongly agree about this game needing to let us choose which skill gets replaced though. Losing Rank VII skills sucks hard and blows.

There also needs to be a way you can say just hit 1 and then the skill activates, having to hit a key, then rclick is annoying and most mmo's in onigiri style let you use skills both ways. I use a controller (xbox360) so I don't have this problem. Just left/right bumper to change skill and left trigger to activate. 99% of the time I do this subconsciously. The downside of using a controller: not all keyboard shortcuts work. I can't sit or pose or anything like that. What? I never said it was a *major* downside  .

I had that problem too, but it's not an issue any more. I don't know what level you are, but aim for 50, then start grinding Youen with drop boosts. 1 exp per mob, so it's hard to over level. Youen Hard with 300% boost typically gives me 90 items per run. If you're not there yet, just run any dungeon that drops them, but jump out before you fight the boss. That'll also help you stop overlevelling. Bosses give big exp, then you've got the pooled exp on top of that. If you're in Kyoto, I recommend Gedoumaru. The Daruma's are easy to kill as long as you know how to play the game, plus there's a lot of them.

Also in a party, does everyone get their own seperate drops? so there is no fighting over loot etc?

Yes, separate drops. You can even run separate dungeons and still benefit from higher mob spawn rates.
