Still, he basically pays C$'s building fee or utility bills by himself each month, so question is: how much of ppl like him are there?

There are more people like your friend, I am certain. There has to be. For Onigiri to be missing so many "key" "MMO features" and give little to no response to complaints and still run their servers like there isn't any problem says a lot. That must mean they are making a good enough profit to not have a need to change up how the game works, or it's either too much work for them to do it. Usually companies change things in the game for the consumers favor when they absolutely need to, not because they want to be nice or want to support the people who play the game. Companies are about that moneyz.
The players who support and dump loads of money on the game does not seem to mind how the game currently is anyway, so why change anything?
Then again maybe C$ thinks that doing events and giving good items about a few good times a year(I.E like this Chirstmas event...) is a way of saying thanks, giving back to the people who play the game...but what about all the other times and the new players that don't get the events?
Or maybe they really do need the money.
Just some observations, maybe I'm crazy too.

tl;dr
market cap = ~20m USD
4.75m shares outstanding
Lost about 120 yen a share = ~98 cents per share last year
aka lost ~20% of their company's total market value in a year.
