Thanks to some hugely appreciated assistance from one Felician, I am now 1/6 towards my goal:


Ariel, Izuna, and Felician hanging out by Ankan Shrine. I don't know why my characters keep getting locked in that stance though. It happened with Virtual Demon yesterday, hence the middle picture in my previous post. I don't press anything, best I can tell, but they end up stuck like that anyway.

Now, will I succeed in unlocking Izuna for Spirit Sabre tomorrow? He's cleared Kurama, and I think he's done Repairing Benkei as well, so he should be able to. Albion will have to do a little work before she can though. She's currently grinding Youen for better Golden Eyes, but once done she'll blaze through the last few Kyoto quests in no time at all really. She's more or less guaranteed to one-shot Odin. Everyone else... well that could take a while. Kotori's almost in Kyoto, just got a few side quests to do. Dancer Lancer can get there quickly too. Yuriko's about to wreck Izumo. Then the others are further back. Warlock Warlord is gearing up for Room of Rites. Scarlet and VR Nightmare are preparing to hit Yamataikoku. Serenity's gearing up for Tiamat while Sora is about to go to Kumaso. I'd like to get them all to clear Kyoto and unlock Izuna by... March 3rd... but that might be pushing it a bit.

To answer yesterday's question:


Yes, Spirit Sabre can unlock Izuna, and indeed he has. I am now 25% towards my goal of 12 Izunas. I've also figured out the pose: It happens when you use the scroll and summon Izuna. Case in point:


That's me and Nikros (Riddras) pulling the pose after both summoning Izuna. That's *my* Izuna in the picture as well. I reckon I can get Izuna for Albion on Monday. Tomorrow's login calendar will bring VR Nightmare's OC up high enough to buy a Scroll as well. Getting Kotori that far will be tricky though. No decent staves around at the moment. I *was* going to craft Gennou, but I changed my mind. Typically I smith weapons in sets of 25 (in order to increase my odds of getting one good weapon out of it), but that would mean getting 25 Chestnut Pearls (I have 2), *at least* 75 Plum Staves (I think I have just one) and 1,500 Lotus Spoons (I have 7). So, all of that material gathering would take forever, and drive me insane. So instead I'll just try to wing it through Kyoto, and see if I can get a decent Kinben from Kyoukotsu Lair or Yakumo. I wasn't going to bother with that staff, but it'll be Seki at the earliest before I get a good one otherwise. Youen doesn't offer me any Staves I want so...

Here's my character, I have just started playing 2 days ago and I'm 40 lvl for now.
Kiryu is a newbie for now but he will be much stronger as he gains more experience.
He is a very patient Oni and doesn't like to do anything rash.

@Riddras: You snapped that huh? I thought about it but... meh. We'll run again sometime. It's good to run dungeons with someone who knows what they're doing. I keep ending up with noobs who can't even roll, let alone guard. Then they get pissy with me for killing everything. I'm sorry, but if my Axe Loli can keep up with you when you're almost twice my level (and deal roughly the same damage too), then you done fucked up big time. I mean seriously: how can a Level 58 with Kyoto weapons be weaker than a (at the time) Level 34 Axe Loli with Onigashima/Kumaso weapons?

In other news:

I'm now a third of the way to my goal. I'll be doubling that tomorrow. Dancer Lancer, Yuriko and Warlock Warlord will each have enough OC to buy an Izuna scroll thanks to the login calendar, while Albion will be busting her arse to do the Izuna quest since she won't have the OC for about a week or so. Four Izunas in one day? I'm drooling.


It's pretty rare for me to post a picture of a character without wings lately. Then again, I *do* have five winged characters, so that makes a difference. Not sure how long the Izuna spam will last though. Could be a while. She's adorable.

5/12 Izunas unlocked. Turns out Albion *did* have enough OC for a scroll, which is fortunate since (due to a crappy sleep cycle) I didn't have enough time to clear all the Kyoto quests. Just got Repairing Benkei to go, then I can get a second scroll. WOOHOO!! Got two bitchin Golden Eyes though, so that's something.


We're halfway there now. I think Warlock Warlord's getting depressed by Yamataikoku. Cheer up buddy, you've got yourself an adorable loli fox girl now.


7/12 Izunas unlocked. I wonder how this game would look in 3D? That Excalibur kinda looks like it's trying to poke out the screen. Rei doesn't seem too impressed with it though.


And that makes two thirds to my goal. Scarlet should have enough OC for a scroll on Saturday. Serenity and Sora will have enough OC for one next Thursday I think (March 2nd). As for Kotori... if I grind hard enough, she can do the Izuna quest and clear it within 8 days. Maybe. Otherwise, she'll have to wait until she has enough OC, which'll be the same day as Sora and Serenity. I guess it depends on how well my Staves hold up.

Well, before I go, I'll leave you with this. OH GOD!! IZUNA: DON'T SIT DOWN!! DO NOT SIT DOWN!!

Welp, I pushed Kotori into Kyoto, but she's got a way to go before she can get Izuna though. As I am now, Yellow Dragon Spire would destroy me even on Normal, same with Shinoda, Kurama and Okuizumo. I need to get Kotori much much stronger before I take those on. Still, there's two Staves I can get in Kyoto (Whitecap and Kinben) which should help me a bit. If I can get to Level 70, I'll run Youen Hard and get my hands on a few Schwartzkreus (sp?) to really ramp up my arse-kicking capacity.

Does anyone know if you can exchange Ougi Gargoyle Glacial Lance for points with Point Daruma? I know you can't at Nyan's Point Exchange, and it can't be sold either. If not I'll just have to chuck it. I regret buying that skill, because it's absolutely God awful. It's about 5 times weaker than Holy Pillar VI, with longer cooldown as well. So not worth it, at all. I extracted it off my Staff and swapped it for Ougi Meditation IV instead. I'd rather have something useful on my Staff, even if it doesn't do damage. Glacial Lance... it was just taking up space.

Anyway...

New hairstyle for Kotori (Shinobi Ponytail), and I swapped out the Miko outfit for something more basic. I got bored of Kotori looking heavily pregnant with a lot of junk in her trunk. That outfit was not flattering. At all.

Just wasted 200 mil on upgrading my Nova wand. Now I'm poor. Anyways I'm trying to get 3 tailed Izuna. Other junk will go towards points for Artisans Swords

A wild Musashi appears! The game puts the camera in weird places when I spawn. I'm actually hidden behind Musashi here. 360 degrees of vision, but the camera is spawned facing just perfectly to hide me.

You know, if it wasn't for that magic arm thing, I'd have probably gone crazy for Musashi like I am with Izuna. But that arm is just way too creepy for me.
