UI Questions

So, I've been looking around at my UI, and noticed the spiral next to my name for the 30th time, yet, I apparently never questioned it. However, now I'm curious what the hell it's for. Because I never see it do anything, yet it looks like it's meant to. Does anyone know if it has a purpose, such as indicating the Game End (Which is highly doubtful to happen, in my opinion. Loss of money from loss of players.), indicating some sort of 'status', or is it meant to tell you you've passed Onigashima?

I've never questioned it, but now I am.

I can't be sure, but I think it just means you have permission from Chief Daruma to leave Onigashima. I've never really paid any attention to when it appears, so I'm not 100% certain. Either that or it means you've killed a Kamikui.

Oh, so that's what that is. I'm surprised mine isn't constantly spinning then lol, especially on long grinds when you need a drink, or 60.
