So I just came back from a year and a half hiatus

Wait wands and staffs can guard? Do they have some other key for guarding since the shift key still puts me into the mana regen state

Maybe its just me adjusting the key assigned for blocking, but every time i press that key (with my staff) i just block. Never get that regen even after losing some mana

It's a different boss, but it's still possible without just guarding. Just Guard wasn't introduced until some time after those bosses, after all.

Geki Skills are pretty much just upgraded regular ougi skills. The only thing different about them is the skill force and durability usage afaik.

Dark Gate Geki (Mega? not too sure on the name...) VI
min SF: 731
Dura: 77

Gah, so it is just a more damaging dark gate? And it's 77 durability a cast to boot? Does anyone even use this ougi?

I tried adjusting the key for blocking as well (because the sticky key prompt was getting annoying) and my blocks only lasted like a second or two before my character stops trying to block and just stands there @.@

Ended up changing the key back to shift (still failed every single block though xD)

Yeah I mean't a different boss and yeah it is possible I guess without blocking but some of his attacks are kinda silly so blocking them is highly reccomended. I'm guessing if your in china you play on the jp server? because I play on the US server and I'm from England so I get the lags too and I learned to pull it off consistantly but you just need to learn to do it about a second or two before it hits because of the delay.

Like I and some other feller said, try practicing on weak enemies who throw slow projectiles or predictable ones till you get it. I didn't take the advice and had to learn on the spot against a boss whos attack has a small time frame to block with lag.

I'm like 99.9% sure I'm still on the NA server and my character didn't just suddenly swap servers. I mean everyone's talking in English so I'm going to assume that I'm not in the JP server xD

Haven't tried JP server but if I have to start all over again, I'll probably cry from the eternal grinding xD

I used to use Dark Gate Geki until I gave up on my Wand user (I had 12 characters at one stage, my wand user was 1 of 4 to go). It was a pretty good skill really, but only really against slow/immobile enemies like Chief Daruma. Anything fast and it'd miss most of the time. My favourite Ougi is Restriction Geki (bow Ougi). Excellent boss slayer, but at around 80 dura per use it devours my bows.

Ougi restriction geki does nothing for me atm because of my level and my Mags, lvl 108 and all melon mags XD.

One quick question

How exactly does one fight against the tentouki thing in Marunouchi Sewer Pipe #5? I'm trying to clear Marunouchi Sewer Pipe #5 for my main quest (the other instances and bosses were soloed fairly easily) but this guy is kinda ridiculous @.@ Hellfire barely scratches him, same with frost glaive, fuujin/raijin and bright homing. Earth spike seems kinda effective but the fact that I have to stop in close range to cast it is kinda . Dark gate seems to be kinda effective as well but the guy's kinda fast so I'm having trouble hitting him with dark gate @.@

What skills would be most effective on this annoying boss?

Tentouki - Whoops I totally forgot about this dude and only noticed now that im editing in Elder. My subconscious must have been repressing my memories of this fight for the sake of my sanity. The fight itself is simple. Hit him with something, run back to the entrance to despawn and/or deaggro, and then repeat...a lot. This is so easy that I don't even need to bother mentioning his moves. What IS worth mentioning is god DAMN is this dude tanky. I didn't actually time how long it took me so I can't give an exact number but it probably took me somewhere between an hour and a half to two hours. The only danger here is you falling asleep at your keyboard. I sure as hell came close.
