One can only assume there is a more powerful variation available from Hell difficulty, but I haven't found the recipe yet. If the scoreboards are anything to go by, no one has cleared that dungeon on Hell difficulty yet, period.

I think it does affect the chests, because people used to create filler parties for Plover Pits.

Edit: Sorry I misread the question. It affect the chests but as to how, I'm not entire sure. Better drop rates I guess?

Are there any good self-healing skills?

So far there are First Aid, Sanctuary, Healing, Energy Ball, and Ougi Heal Wave/Extend Heal (normal and GEKI).
I would use First Aid cause the others suck, especially Healing (only at rank IV lol).The Ougis are useful for PT healing, but I doubt if anyone would do that.

Energy Ball can also be somewhat useful for self-healing. You can swap to a more powerful weapon before running into it for a better heal, and it also doesn't use any durability whatsoever (or level up the skill) unless it lands directly on someone when cast.
