Pleasantly Surpised

Hello world,

Just as like the name of this post, I was actually surprised at this game. Looking at it from a distance it looked like the bottom of the trash kind of mmo. But, oddly enough the gameplay itself feels... Good. But before I get into what I like, leme go ahead and tell ya what I don't like.

After playing for an hour or so the game is of course, rough around the edges. I mean really rough. No graphics options to speak of or button mapping for keyboards. No mouse sensitivity and the resolution options are sparse at best. Connectivity issues galore and very dated graphics. Speaking of which, didn't this game get released on japanese ps4s? I also did a bit of research here in these forums about exp issues from the japan an US versions. I could go on, but i'll leave it at that.

While this game does have issues, I'm actually compelled to play it because of the gameplay alone. An action mmo that actually feels like an action game. I did not do any research before hand and just downloaded it because a website told me that this game was in "closed beta." I went in with the absolute lowest expectation having my mind set on uninstalling it once I felt this game was trash. But, look at me now. I'm Playin' the game and actually enjoying it. That's something that most mmos don't really do for me all that often.

There is already a ton of people already riding the hate train for this game and publisher. But, there is something about this game that feels... right. I hope this game gets polished up and the publisher gets their act together. I feel like this game has got potential.

It used to feel even more right back in alpha.

The game style, play, concept, etc are all really great, not to mention the graphics are decent w/o having that high of requirements for your cpu. The problem is all that they've changed going into beta, the biggest problem being EXP rates. The rates are killing the beta and it may or may not kill the game entirely. I suppose we shall see...
