Generally speaking anyway, this game doesn't seem like you're supposed to be able to tank 50 hits unless you're in a dungeon way below your level. Although correct me if I'm wrong, since I don't play many MMORPGs nor have I actually heard and played this game until the closed beta.

I don't know about that, this video suggests otherwise, and it is exactly what I do to solo dungeons on hell difficulty as a spear user.

I can deal a good (albeit slow) amount of damage BECAUSE they don't do too much in one hit, this is in Hard Modes 2~4 levels above me, and I generally get pretty good exp out of them. Been primarily using a counter-attack playstyle to make sure enemies are always being staggered; hitting them before they attack seems to occasionally allow them to keep moving regardless.
