Bow shots don't register

i've noticed this in the last day or so. but my bow only registers 3/6 shots out of the basic combo. The 3rd, 5th, and 6th shots don't do damage nor do they deduct durability. sometimes they work, but i'm not sure why. i've tried going right up to monsters and firing point black at them, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

if you would like any additional information about my character that may help you find out why this is happening i will gladly provide it.

That is true I have had my bow shots register on my npc companion and also other players I would like the shots to hit only the enemys.

While that does happen, and can be fixed by simply locking onto your target by pressing tab(turning the blue target symbol to red) will prevent you from hitting anything other than what you are locked into regardless if things are in your way.

What I am referring to is that when I am locked onto my target, in range(well below 14m, tested even at point blank range) it will not register the full bow combo of 6 shots, and will register only the first, second, and fourth shots.
