This counter attacks Sekirei's blatant "This isn't like WoW-dark souls, make it like WoW-dark soul." I don't want another god damn WoW-clone, I can just go to the other 500+ MMOs if I did.

Please show me where I specifically said that I wanted another WoW-Dark souls clone. I would really LOVE to see where I referenced either of those games, because I didn't. So outright assuming I'm leaning towards their styles with my arguments is retardedly ignorant. I'd also like to mention I never played either of those games.

Frankly it's quite stupid to assume my point of view and argue against me with what you THINK I'm trying to suggest.

I've played games like Monster Hunter and dragon nest and their dodge functions actually let you evade incoming attacks without purposefully trying to gain distance. I could roll INTO an incoming tail whip, and it's as if I rolled underneath it. That's what I mean when I mention I-frames. To assume I want it with the current dodge system ( Costing almost nothing ) is again, another stupid ass assumption. Yeah it would need to get certain tweaks to fit into the game, like giving it an actual % mana cost so you can't infinitely spam it. Maybe have it as high as 20-25% so when you DO land a perfectly timed dodge, which would take a certain level of skill instead of just holding shift, it would feel awesome.

If you even once looked at the main point I ever tried giving out, it was that this game lacks ANYTHING but grinding. Suggesting and alternate profession system was to alleviate the grind in some way. I also suggested PvP and a more engaging quest system. All of these were ideas that provide something INTERESTING and different than the one god forsaken thing this game offers. Grinding.

Please, I think YOU'RE the one misinterpreting me.

1. Everyone has complained about grinding, which I even admitted to in my first reply; no one is denying that. Ever. Not once in this thread/forum/game. Get over it, we all want that to change.

2. This is a dungeon-crawler akin to diablo. While most MMOs are the exact same grind (including focusing mainly on dungeons, like this game does, and even ones that don't, to me it's the exact same whether you're in an instance or open-field, it's the same end result...), this game DOES incorporate non-grinding elements in that they actually have a story. To me, this game is WAY less grind intensive than 90% of the other MMOs IF you take away the ridiculous exp curve. If you read my first and second reply, you would ALSO have read this.

3.WoW: Why do I think you want this like WoW?

I wonder.. is it because you want your characters to have the professions (which is WoW and every WoW-clone and half the RPGs since then)... you may not have DIRECTLY referenced it but you are suggesting for this game to have THE EXACT same system thus you are INDIRECTLY referencing WoW.

3.Dark Souls: Why do I think you want this like Dark Souls?

Because you want a dodge mechanic that makes you immune to any damage no matter what you do as long as you press a button. AKA you want an easy-mode AKA Dark Souls. BTW I actually HAVE rolled under tail whips in this game. As I had mentioned in my FIRST reply, I have done what you claim is impossible. You just obviously are not doing it right or expect it to work in every situation/attack which is stupid. Again, why don't you actually read posts before you reply to them, you might actually recognize how stupid your arguments are. BTW dodge DOES take mana in this game; it's a very small amount but you DO expend some amount to dodge, it isn't free nor unlimited.. why don't you play the game and pay attention to your SP meter when you dodge, or do you just simply not know how to dodge?

Again, the only actual grinding issue this game HAS compared to ANY other game is the whole exp curve. If you fixed the exp curve (as everyone has stated they want fixed), this game's grinding would be identical to EVERY (literally EVERY) MMO in the world, except better because this game actually has a story compared to 90% of the MMOs that are literally just number games and grinding. And tell me, how is this ANY different from Dragon Nest? I've played that game, Dragon Nest is the EXACT same "run through dungeon, grind level, run through dungeon, grind level" thing as this game is. You're talking like Dragon Nest is better but fundamentally it is the EXACT same. Again, your whole "this is nothing but a grind" boils down to the exp curve, which again we all complain about, but you are exaggerating like the entire game is a horrible grind. And again you fail to admit that Onigiri DOES have more to it than just "grinding" in that there IS a story with ACTUAL characters that no other MMO does to this scale (that I'm aware of, and I've played most MMOs on the market to some extent).

Again YOU are the one that has clearly not read a single one of my posts until now. You repeatedly repeat the EXACT same OP post instead of addressing ANYTHING I've said. How about you address my comment about "How would YOU suggest they fix the quest system" instead of complaining about it. Or how about when I ACTUALLY agreed with you about PVP; which you obviously didn't read because you are incapable of reading.

No, clearly YOU are the one "misinterpretating" me but that isn't the right word because you clearly haven't even LOOKED at anything I said. If you did, you would see where I actually agreed with you and where I said "How about actually giving something of substance instead of complaining about it" or where I said "How is this mechanic/system different from all the other MMOs, and why are you complaining about it like Onigiri is the only MMO at fault for this shitty mechanic/system." You may have some good points but you fail to even grasp that half of what you say has been done by most MMOs, are shitty aspects of most MMOs, or are just out-right pointless to complain about and only complain about. Why don't you take a lesson from THIS (viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2469) guy who ACTUALLY offers advice/ideas instead of just complaining about it and expect for the developers to come up with a magic, new system that no one else in the world has done just because you said so.. this late in development. Why don't YOU offer something tangible instead of just QQing and saying the same damn thing like a NPC even though EVERY MMO does it.

No I'm not saying that these things are great or acceptable. I'm saying that I can't expect Onigiri to innovate EVERY single MMO system and I'm content with the ones they didn't innovate. You're bashing a game that ACTUALLY breaks the god damn mold that MMOs has had for the past 10 years. Onigiri is one of a very few amounts of games that breaks this damn mold, and it even separates itself from THOSE games,

To reiterate my point in a shorter post (even if double posting) since you are clearly incapable of reading:

What makes this game's "grinding" ANY different from any other MMO other than the horrible exp curve or the story aspect. AKA what MECHANICALLY is different from this and any other MMO? Quests, dungeons, and all.

Oh and don't say "PVP" (because that would be a nice feature to have) or "professions" because we already have professions and what you want in terms of that is exactly what you're saying you don't want, GRINDING.

I like the game so far, but maybe if they added an aoe for the combat weapons like the katana that gives it as good an ability as the abusability of the range of the bow for low lvls.

I've actually read all of Doguso's replies 'cause they're interesting.

Sekirei:
Your Dodge idea is reeeally not good, is it? You want some I-frame, but that'll make the game much easier, you know? You already said that you can OHKO everything with your +50 Odachi (maybe you should try something other than normal solo), and then you want the game to be even easier? "B-But it would require skill to dodg-" Nope, I-Frames are ridiculously easy to master and abuse. The current dodge already requires some skill, so learn how to use it. Or start searching another game.

Show me a MMORPG that DOESN'T involve grinding in any form. I actually think that grinding is a MUCH better way of playing any game than the usual "quest-quest-level up-quest-quest-quest-level up-quest-oh shi~ no more quests I have to kill 20 monsters till next level nooooooooooo". The best quest system are those that doesn't involve quest markers (!). It makes them a whole harder, but forces you to read and figure stuff (or search the interwebs). But I guess players are too lazy now to do that.

We really gotta love those professions where you have to craft 4152972198643 useless items just to get that one item that can get easily replaced by late game drops. Not to mention weapon and armor shops. Did anyone realize that in games of late, equipment dealers are just for show? Do anyone buy anything from them?

Sure, the towns are huge and there are really few NPCs, but adding useless NPC is not any better. If you actually come up with a better idea than "weapon shop" then I(we?)'ll listen(read?). Oh, not some Bar or Guild stuff that throws more boring quests, ok?

Learn to love the game as it currently is, and of course, try molding it to your tastes (heck, the exp rate was doubled, was it not?). If any game strongly looks bad to you, then just stop playing, instead of trying to re-create the entire game. My impressions of Onigiri? I really liked the weapon switch method, the growing travelling companions, the skill level up (if Momotarou actually works in OBT). The new drinking system, the customization of your character (from visual to build), looking at Ibaraki at every scene, etc. There are room for improvement, of course, but all we can do is wait for the actual release, instead of keep whining at CBT.

What OP wants is a game that meets every single aspect of his tastes. I guess it's time to create a game of your own, buddy. And I wouldn't play it.
