Trade and skills

Postby CuppyCakey » 12 Jun 2014, 15:35

As implied by the topic title, there are two questions (can't be bothered making 2 separate post).

1. Will there be trading when this game goes live or are there any plans to implement it? (if anyone has played the jp version, that would be helpful)

2. The skill descriptions display waaaaaaayyy too little info. Hopefully they would remedy that by adding some numbers that update according to skill level such as damage multipliers, cooldowns, status inflicted, mana cost. For now, what does SKILL FORCE dictate? I've tested it by using removing all equipment except for un-enchanted weapons, all of the same level and only compared level 1 skills on mobs that have no weakness/strengths to the element of the skills involved to reduce variables. Still seems like skill force does not always influence damage (higher skill force rating does not always mean higher damage).

How does primary stats, attack damage and elemental affinity affect buffs? (does high MND = longer buff duration/higher buff bonus?)

Trading is available in the JP version in the form of a paid real money license to do so.

Can't comment on the Skill Force. It might either be broken or only associated to certain weapon types or affects something else altogether.

Attack Power is purely determined by (Proficiency + Weapon Power) * Modifiers
Can't say much about MND and buffs.

If you read my post properly, I mentioned UPDATED mana cost equivalent to skill level, and any other factors affecting mana cost(-sp matagama, etc...). If u had even paid attention to the actual mana consumption in game, it may cost 21, 10, 32 even when the mana cost shown(not updated or incorrect) was 27, 12 and 38. The cost shown next to skills are the cost only at skill level 1 and no modifier has been applied, even after such factors have been applied. In short, if we take your screenshot as an example, the values shown are not the actual cost and misleading.

Reedit: Heres an example.

As you can see, the SP cost shown next to the skills to cast darkness pillar III and flamestrike III is respectively 98 and 100. However, if you look at my SP bar, I only have 62 SP, yet those skills are already usable (not greyed out) implying that the actual SP cost of the skills are equal to or below 62 SP, and no its not a an issue with the skill randomly not being greyed out, if I pressed right click then the skill would go off as usual.

although lack of info is a bad thing, I find that it's fun to trying to figure out wat it actually is. Doing tests and everything in order to know what it does and how to use it. That is if you aren't wasting days after days and got frustrated over it and decided not to care about it anymore.

Does everyone involve in the trade require the license or does only one individual need to have it for the trading to happen? Say if I had it, could I make a trade to someone without?

I spent only about 20 minutes testing and the rest were just observations while playing the game. Don't have the time to toy around with it now, hence the post so anyone with the knowledge can shed some light on the matter. I'm sure someone will do some hardcore stats breakdown eventually but until then we'll just pool in what we know.

Some higher tier skills (or even as low as Rank II) have these optional hits that drain an additional 100% SP; though some that don't even have that option like Sunlight Strike V sometimes drain my SP dry. It's a bit irritating, especially for those high rank skills like (i.e.) Wild Strike IV with a relatively low force and would need all 3 hits to actually compete with other skills. It makes a lot of skills not worth it to level since there are far better skills with far better damage for a lower SP cost.

On skill force, I think of it like a multiplier to your attack power and the damage that pops up is dependent on the number of hits you might do. Some skills do 100% of the force listed on one shot (i.e. Cursed Arrow III) or the damage would be divided across the number of hits you'd do (i.e. Aqua Needles III where 1 needle does 1/3 of the skillforce*attackpower).

Can't explain it very well, but I guess for full hits damage, can refer to: attack*(skillforce/100). That won't give the exact damage, considering mob defs and resists and supposedly hidden damage randomizers, but it'd give an estimate. I'm unsure if there are skills that can dish out 2x or more damage through the virtue of having a damage per hit calc where the total damage of each hit would exceed the given Skill Force.

It is pretty stupid that you can trade items only if you spend money on the game.

Crimson Sword can hit twice too if you keep the right mousebutton pressed, else it will only hit once, but even if you decide to use its full combo of hitting twice, it only uses 100% of the displayed SP and not 200% owo.
