That's the point of spear. Drag out fights with basic combo until you have enough mp to use skills again.

So lots of patience. I'm fine with that actually, I like to take it slow. Just one concern: does battle time affect exp acquired after clearing a dungeon?

Tips for spearman, Don't use your whole combo, just stop it after 1 auto attack then move do another 1 move and reapeat.
It makes you hit faster and your and less vulnerable at other attacks. Spearman attack stuning your for quite long time thats why it is not worth use whole combo.

I... don't know.

Just from my own experience, dungeons that I took more time will give more exp...

The first time I run kishiden hard I did it in 10 min for 1k exp.

Experienced, I did it the second time in only 6 min, but only for 700 exp.

Well as far as I know, clear time has nothing to do with the exp and only the amount of monsters you kill/your level does. Lazgrane, it's possible that since you were more experienced with the dungeon you knew which monsters to kill to move onto the next stage, efficiently skipping some of the lesser mobs that disappear when the main mob is defeated thus gimping you out on some of that prior exp when you perhaps took more time to kill every mob, of course this is just my guess so it may not be accurate to what actually happened.

Spear is pretty nice, most of my issues w/ Oodachi/power weapons in general (There are lots of them XD) are more in regards to the balance compared to the other damage-oriented weapons (Wis/Dex).

Haven't had a chance to use any of the Ice/Water skills from the spears, but it seems those and Rolling Thunder are some of the better skills. The no-SP cost decent-ranged AoE is pretty nice, but not as beneficial as it could be.

Also, taking 1 damage when guarding Chief Daruma's ability is always fun. XD

Also when looking at late game videos of players level 90+, spear just has it so much easier considering they have high hp and defense, but still can 1 shot mobs like any other weapon. Also they don't die to bosses in 1 hit like other weapon

tanks are tank why cry because you are a tank and you deal low damage compared to others? its like your a bow type and your complaining you take alot of damage compared to vit spear class. whats wrong with everyone :(

no kori , even with full vit you still get One Hit , as you can see in second video I post at first page

the exp rate should just be normal like Jap , in Jap they are all ready make it Underlevel ( do all side quest of all town , lv 32 meet dungeon 40 ) there is no point of make it even More underlevel , More underlevel more useless of spear and staff user , everyone can just play pow type for damage and dex for safe , wand maybe get a little effect by underlevel but should be okay while go to lv 4x+ , but spear and staff will never again , both of weapon need high level and special weapon to make it worthwhile

I've played both spears and power type..

I feel that spears are like a poor man version of odachi..

I think that vit type/spear needs to be "distinct" compared to the power type weapon..

If I would suggest, spears need to be more in-depth in its defensive gameplay.. the damage may not be as high as a power type, but having a block-counter attack style would make it interesting..
