So to sum up, if what I get from all this is correct,

1. Only skills with borders are able to evolve, with (number of borders - 1) being the amount of times it is able to evovle.

2. The only way to know if a skill on a weapon is able to evolve is to check it out for extra borders at momo.

3. All skills on all weapons are extractable, being limited only by momo's friendship level and the extracted skill has to be at max level before extraction is possible. Skill level on the particular weapon is reset after extraction.

4. Skills cards obtained are single use per extraction and when applied to another weapon (limited only by weapon type - odachi skills can only be applied to odachis) replaces a skill at random.

5. Target for skill replacement is currently equipped weapon.

Skill levels are bound to your character, so the entire skill for that weapon type will be reset.

For example, if I had an odachi with void slash V, and I extracted it, my odachi void slash V would be reset to level 1 for all my odachis, whilst my sword void slash V's are untouched.

Please note that rank=/= level. It will still be void slash V, but just no longer maxed.

Question: Can you smelt a weapon that has borders to level up the skill, then go back to momo and upgrade that skill?

Example: I have Crimson Sword II that i checked with momo and it has a border. I smelt my weapon and upgrade skill, that skill just so happens to be Crimson Sword which is now upgraded to Crimson Sword III. When it was Crimson Sword II it had a border, so now if i go to momo will that border still be there?

No.

However, if you smelt the weapon and another skill's level increases, you will still be able to use Momo on crimson sword II.

I had a +50 Flame Sukedachi for like half of those videos (Level 5 sword). This was also back in CBT also.
