Does does the crosshair bother anyone else?

Postby Hunter » 18 Jun 2014, 03:30

It's not freakin' centered in the middle of the screen. Why? It's driving me nuts.

I'm giving this game a second try today and it's making me even more mad this time. Cyberstep has the worst servers in the world, it feels like the server is on Mars.

Whoever came up with the control scheme for controllers is a complete moron as well... your guard button is the same button that you move with (analog stick?) And switching weapons is completely inefficient on the controllers.

And let me stress again: please make your character move a shorter distance with one press of the movement. You move too far with each press of W, A, S, D, making movement inaccurate.

And center the crosshair/aiming reticle...

I REALLY hope a lot of this game is just getting a total overhaul on release day, because this is like an early alpha build... can't believe they consider this a gone gold game, it's even on the Playstation blog (advertising the PS4 version).

I might be mistaken, but I believe the reticle/crosshair is in the center of the window, but your character is slightly offset just to the left of center (until you zoom in close enough, at which point it begins to shift the character model to the center). I think because we're accustomed to the idea that our character is always centered (in other games), this makes the crosshairs appear to be off-center, but I think they actually are centered.

It's the other way around.

In games designed by people with brains, your character (or your gun) will be a little off to the left or right of the screen, and the aiming crosshair will be at the center. In this one, you're in the center, and my crosshair is off in the middle of nowhere, and when I swing my weapon it doesn't even aim towards the crosshair (which doesn't help with the already awful & laggy hit detection).

I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. I took out a measuring tape, pointed my view at the sky as much as possible, and measured from the inside edge of the window to the center of the reticle, and confirmed that it is indeed equidistant from each edge of the window, side to side as well as up and down.

If your character is in the center and your crosshairs are "off in the middle of nowhere", maybe you have a graphical bug or some other kind of display issue.

Nope, use an image editor on a screen shot from the game. You will see that the center of the crosshair is in the exact center of the screenshot. Which means it is in the exact center of the screen. And the character is offset to the left.
Though you are right the melee attacks aren't aimed towards the crosshairs, they are aimed directly forwards.

Edit: it is possible that the crosshairs have buggy positioning in certain aspect ratios or resolutions.
