What weapon/class type will you be in OBT?

I've always played a healer in many MMOs, and I've always been a fan of the swords. With that weird combination, I will be either STR/MND or DEX/MND, but I will most likely op for DEX/MND so that I can use the bow to pick out monster in a crowds and when fighting bosses.

So I will end up carrying 2 bows, 1 twin sword, and 1 staff. There's really no point in sticking to a single weapon for all situations, specifically putting myself in a disadvantage situation. The major downside is that I have to put time aside to level up my skills.

I'm liking my WIS/mnd 3 Wand/1 Staff char right now, and I'll probably run this build again on the Release. POW weapons (axe specifically) look pretty nice, though, as do Spears...

sword, sword, odachi, spear.
Never liked axes and I can't really handle slow weapons that well either.

I'm curious, what is the attack range of spear anyways?

I know twin sword is 3m, sword is 5m, and bow is 15m.

Pure dex,
With 2 bow,
1st bow with high base dmg but rank 1 skills . (for fast mobs kill , although 1 by 1)
2nd bow with high base dmg and skill force , IV^ skills rank (bossing and Tanky mobs 1 shots)

i like the vit/mind(2/3 spears and 1/2 staffs) build, but i'd like to try mind/pow/mind build...(2spears/1nodachi or sword/1staff) but seems like pure vit still fits me better for teamwork u.u

Not really, actually. Here's how I built this CBT:


The big issue is that you actually don't deal enough damage on specific mobs to draw aggro off of Pow-oriented builds. While you can hit many targets and deal more total damage, your squishy DPS builds are going to have crowds chasing after them. (As a note, Water Dragon Spear destroys dense crowds because it reapplies the 10-entity limit rule on AOEs per hit.)

Spears are great for solo play (like everything but staff and those poor wand users), but Vit/Mnd builds just don't shit out enough hate. Personally I'll be going Vit/Pow with 10/20 Mnd (depending on level), generally in a 5:2:1 distribution.

I'm going to go bow and dual blades because naturally, I choose to be a healer (like I do for the majority of mmos) but I feel that it may be lonely to start out as a healer who may only heal himself.

So out of all the choices, I'll choose DPS with the ability to be as evasive as I can. That's the point of a glass cannon after all, deal plenty damage then dodge as many attacks as you can to chain up that damage combo.

Plus I have not used a melee character in years. I always prefered mage.

Anyways, ill be going mostly pure power then dex for crits/cooldowns so at end game ill have about 90+ power and Dex with around 60 vit/mind
