Material Finding

I think some materials are unnecessarily difficult to find...I've played Monster Hunter nightly in the past, and that has some pretty iffy drops, but some of the ones in this almost match that.

The Gastric Juice from the baby centipedes for one.

On top of that, some of the materials from smithing aren't difficult to find, but you need a LOT of them. Like, an insane amount.

On the topic, does anyone know where to find an Ornate Handle? I need, I believe, 50, for my staff (Or Wand, cba to check), and I have no clue where to find them.

It's in Chinji Cavern, inside Yamataikoku.
It drops off from the boss.

The help is much appreciated. It'll surely take a while to farm up enough for the Staff..50, after all. And I'm not even sure if it'll be worth it, but either way, I'll go ahead with it.

Dang that's a damn lot. Ornate Handle is a common item drop from the boss but sometimes it doesn't drop at all.

Just checked, and it's only 20. Strange, because I could have sworn it was 50 yesterday when I checked.
But on top of that, it requires a +24 Oak Staff, which I luckily already have..

What's your experience with Smithing? Have you had to make anything much yet?

Personally, I don't want to use Smithing in my level yet (24)
I dunno, the equipments I get from dungeons are still adequate for me to progress and I think it would be best to invest on that on higher levels where leveling and hunting for good equips that will do any hit at all later is harder.

I can kinda see where you're coming from. Smithing is probably quite over the top for reasonably low levels, myself only level 14.

The only other thing that might be over the top is reforging multiple times, which I have done for 2 weapons so far...Oak Staff +24 and all that.

Simple Enhancing and Reforging is a necessity, though.
