Mabinogi's world map is not exactly huge, I'd say that each individual area is comparable in size to this game because like Onigiri, it isn't a true open world MMO. You are constrained to certain paths and towns on the map, with very limited "open world" areas to explore, yet they have more mounts than you could ever want x.x; Vanity pets as well. So yes. Map size is not a judge of whether or not there will be mounts in a game. It's all up to the developers and what they want. It would be nice to see some mounts but then again, annoying if the mounts are bound to a single character on an account and you have to re-buy them for each character. (Unlike Mabinogi where you can summon your mounts on all characters because the mounts take up a character slot)

So potentially, so could Onigiri.
And err...10 minutes to walk across Tara? XD; I don't think it takes that long....Maybe on a human I guess o.o; But most of the time in a SM you can run someplace in maybe...under 3 minutes.
But actually Mabinogi is really small compared to games like Aion or other true open world MMO's.
Sephiroth wrote:I agree. The game needs to be more stable before we get mounts. If we ever do.
I'm guessing you guys probably play on a human where the run speed is slower ? O.o; Tara has never seemed that inconvenient to cross to me unless I was on a human ^^;

Sure mounts are great and you can move around faster, but they are rendered almost useless due to the portal function of the game. Also, if there are any segments outside of dungeons and towns, they're not wide or open enough to allow travel to be well... useful. Especially when you can go to the void to teleport to your destination ((if you have entered its crystal)) and your destination is a small walk away. Not only that, but it is highly likely to be a cash shop item, much like other mmos.
