sorry but this is the US version not JP version so it will become different don't complain how the cyberstep change it because cyberstep don't wan't to copy everything in jp version they just want originality common sense please
I have to disagree with this. US version should not be wildly different from JP. The EXP really needs to be fixed. While level doesnt mean a whole lot, it sucks going to new areas and being 10-15+ levels below the content you're doing. Especially since JP version has a much higher EXP rate. What's the point of the brutal grind requirements in order to level? At least Kyoto's grind is a pretty fast one, but the byakko grind until you go to Kyoto is abusive. I ground through Byakko for several days in order to get through izumo. Thank god Shinoda forest is easier, and yields significantly more EXP.
You're always on about how US and JP versions are different. Which is nice, but the thing here is... C$ is the same company here, that is in japan. It's C$ US branch running Onigiri US. in JP is C$ JP running Onigiri JP. There is no logical reason for the US version to be so much more abusive than the JP version. Mostly it appears that C$ US is under a lot of pressure to make this game run VERY profitably. So a lot of the moves they've taken so far seem to be in the general direction of shameless money grubbing. Like for example... when they took out moon king, and tried to replace it with a speed boost magatama. Also... considering they removed the ability to sell clothes at all, all player transactions are heavily taxed, and the fact that there are no staffs with res skill, which JP has. Obviously res skill would eat into C$'s profits on soul eggs, so they cant have that. That's not originality, that's shameless abuse to the player base.
For the most part it's JRPGs that are abusive in grinds, but JRPG is a minority on the game market in NA. Mostly because there are few gamers who are masochistic enough to want to do that. Don't believe it? Look at game title sales in the US, for real consoles. That is PC, Xbox, PS. It's geared mostly towards...
*SHOCK* FPS titles. Why is that? Well for starters they're easy. You (generally) don't have to do some brutal grind. It doesn't require much thought or planning, and whats more, if you find out your playing wrong, you don't have to start over from scratch. It's easy to experiment with new play styles. If you look at MMO statistics.... you'll note WoW pretty much has the corner on the MMO market. There are numerous other MMOs that don't even come into the ballpark with it. Hell if you look at PC gaming statistics alone, it's pretty much owned by Blizzard.
Lots of the suggestions players are putting out, pretty much boil down to, make this game more like WoW. Which is fine and all, but, rather than make this game more like WoW, how about make this game cater more to the player base.
It seems like I've wandered from my original point. The thing is, this game is basically being forced to be profitable, by making the game easy enough to play on your own, but annoying enough with it's EXP requirements that people will want to spend money to move through it faster. The company is going to make some money, the problem is, this strategy doesn't last. It's just not a good long term solution. It's shiny and new right now, but at this rate, the game is going to be a flash in the pan, and disappear off the market, because put simply...
The company is crapping on the players in order to make a buck. Players in general wont stand for it, the player base will wane, and the servers will close. There are other MMOs out there.
There are other ANIME-THEMED MMOs out there.Put simply, I'm along for the ride at the moment, but give it a few weeks, I'll be back to WoW, because this thing doesn't have features. It's not worthy of being called a final. It's a beta, and an abusive beta at that.
Edit: While re-reading my post... I thought of something else. They really made controller support for this game? Before they even had all the PC controls hammered down or even had many standard MMO features in place? It makes this even more like they were building an MMO for a console instead of PC. If so, they should know console players are less patient and forgiving to grinds than the PC crowd.
