Not going to call out names, but that happened when I stopped in Echigo for less than a minute (All 5 messages actually popped up in less than 30 seconds total) just to look at the stalls there. Events like this have been happening more recently over the course of the last week as well. Why is it that people feel as if they're entitled to get help as soon as they ask? I don't mind helping people out here and there, but recently I've had multiple people come begging for carries etc. etc.

Anyways, just wanted to make people aware that this stuff is starting to bug not just me, but a few of the other higher level players as well. The era of leech parties is over... try partying up with other people (Using the relatively new and convenient Grouping and Recruitment board) to try clearing dungeons as a team...

(Yes, I'm somewhat irritated right now.)

Edit: I just had another person come for help within 15 seconds of posting this.

Disgusting as that type of behavior is I can sort of see why people would reach that point of frustration. The end-game of Onigiri has changed yet the middle ground is still several hundred hours of grinding just to reach the point where you're strong enough to get through the newer dungeons to grind for several hundred hours to farm Satan for several hundred hours.

It's almost as if CS actually expects a vast majority of players to buy the overpriced experience boosts to make the grind from Kaga to Edo tolerable... which isn't going to happen. This is why Onigiri has such a horrendously bad retention rate and why the population is declining so rapidly as a whole; there aren't nearly enough people sticking it out through the mid-game grind anymore to replace those leaving at end-game.

You either beg for help, deal with an even worse grind than before(due to carries for SF/Grotto/EE being all but non-existent now) or quit.

Well yeah.

Edo update kinda put a fine line between the ones who can carry, the ones who can hold their own weight, and the ones who can't do anything besides leech. Honestly, if they're unable to do the dungeons and are beginning to beg others for help, either they're just simply not putting in the effort or they're way too underlevelled compared to the dungeon. I mean, when I first started this game, my biggest block in my early phases was Odin simply because I was too underlevelled. So what do you do? You grind up to the level where you can take on the boss and continue with the storyline. Hit another roadblock? Rinse and repeat.

People are trying to cut that line by leeching the quests off other people and now they're beginning to think that they're obligated to receive help. Edo's an area for decently geared level 9x+ players and WELL geared level 8x players to go to. I've seen a level 86 solo through most of edo's content without a problem other than time. It's even more disappointing when people above level 90 are still begging for help in edo. That being said, Edo is NOT a place where people below level 80 should be. It's not like Echigo or Kaga where you can enter underlevelled and leech your way up to the required levels.

Either you carry your own weight, or you go back and grind until you can.

No. It put a fine line between people who reached level 70-80+ before the update and those who didn't. It put a fine line between whales and the vast majority who don't spend money on OC. Kaga/Echigo now are less than a shadow of what they once were. It's not even a question of whether or not someone is capable... the question is why should they care? If someone needs to grind for weeks on end before they're able to move on with the story only to repeat that process two or three more times then why should they bother playing this game?

If that mentality is kept and something doesn't change to make leveling up to Edo easier, this game is dead.

Speaking as someone who has not spent a dime on this game: Onigiri is not made for people who don't want to spend a large amount of money. The absurd increase in power you can gain near instantaneously by dropping some money on OC and the sheer level gap that is forced on you by drastically reduced experience gains meant to encourage people to spend money for more experience and power makes Onigiri borderline pay to play. You can not honestly be telling me you expect people to grind several hundred hours when they haven't gotten anywhere close to end-game when said end-game community is starving for more players. If you are, please don't ever get into game design.

This happens in every mmorpg out there btw... but in any case atleast CS lets you sell ingame items for OC which is great for players that don't want to spend real money but have plenty of time to invest in the game.. and why do u even need to be in a rush to reach edo anyways its ment to be the end game area atm until the next big patch.

Edit: If you can't enjoy the other towns and areas of the game then you shouldn't be playing this game ..

I highly suspect there is a lot more to the conversation posted here. You cropped that conversation awfully short.

Edit: Although I do agree that's a good suggestion to use the Grouping and Recruitment board. Sadly it's rarely used.

I cut it short because that's all that was said. I did not want to respond to this person after that fourth line so I did not.

"the absurd increase in power you can gain near instantaneously by dropping some money on OC" lol I have always wonder why people think this because I haven't really see a really OP item in store other than a 10% attack or a 15% skill force acc but a 10% u can get it making a weap +100 isnt? 15 skill force you can get that with ornamentation too so.... ???
The main pproblem is that people got used to get carried and now that the high lvl players are grinding edo or satan they dont have anyone who can or want to carry them they have nothing to do but really what is diferent? when they got carried they were doing nothing isnt? or maybe they're noticing than a mica magatama cant do much? and complaining about the lots and lots of hours they have to grind just to level up in first place how they think a high lvl got to that level? staying in town and begging for help? or for a carrier? I have played several games and this one is the first one where i see leechers were welcome and now that theyre not needed maybe ppl really start playing the game.

Instant rank 7 skills(which, for the skills I've looked at, range from 50-80% more damage compared to rank 5) rather than having to farm to extract for several hours. The odds of ornamenting basically coming down to the odds of getting the stats you want rather than factoring in chance of failure(which is absurdly high for the newer ornamentations. Even for Fated you've got a 1/4 chance of succeeding both ornaments, never mind actually getting the stats you want. Good luck actually getting a few of the 30% base success ornaments without spending OC.) Ougis; do I really need to expand on this? +100 whenever you want when +70 is normally about as high as you'd want to go without taking some serious risks because you need to save what little reset buttons you've gotten from boxes. Don't think that last +30 is going to make much of a difference? +80 to +100 is 20-25% overall damage because of the way enhancement scales. Have fun spending months smelting one of the new 10x gold weapons to +100 without a backlog of Nyankoropon-fueled Artisan's Treasure Swords while OC buyers can do it in ten minutes. The most you have to worry about is farming Ryou(from a level 50 dungeon.)

Admittedly this is all stuff you can get over time but that's the point. Onigiri lets you buy power; a lot of it in a very small amount of time with little to no effort. Anyone who thinks they're accomplishing anything by throwing money at the game is delusional.
