Although its just -15 or -20 depending on your build - its still annoying, especially against mobs that run away from you.

It's annoying when rapid storm/moon king wears off during a dire situation... I have 3 wadatsumi's and I'm already going "oh... Fuck"

That's pretty interesting. It's nice to have a somewhat accurate scope on what sort of damage is being seen on the NA version and the confirmation about enemy defense. Thanks.

Edit: Yes, Axe hits SLIGHTLY higher than other weapons. No, it doesn't hit THAT much higher.

Damage doesn't interest me. DPS and utility does. You're comparing an awkward skill with very niche uses compared to something with global appeal. Still, it's nice to know that things are closer than I thought.

That's not even the highest damage Axe is capable of. Power weapons are basically choosing easy mode.

"blablabla I'm playing hard mode respect me if you guys don't do it my way you guys are playing easy mode I'm not saying this because I know it's easy but I just assume it is vlablavla this is imbalanced Volvo pls fix I dunno why I'm still playing this game"

Yes I understood you

See, when I make assumptions I'm very upfront about it. Take your fallacies elsewhere. I don't really care about gaining anyone's "respect"(especially not from people who skip 95% of the game by binging on OC(which isn't an elbow jab toward anyone in particular but I find it relevant)) because what I enjoy isn't what most people enjoy.

Do you know the exact pixel count needed to move your cursor to trigger a weapon change? Do you know the algorithm for lucky box drops and how to manipulate that algorithm to some degree? Have you recorded tens of thousands of kills to get a decent idea of the drop rate and range of magatamas, the difference in base drop rates between each difficulty and how drop rates scale with monster level? When's the last time you spent hours being a punching bag and gorging yourself on crabs to calculate the effectiveness of defense at various values, or wasted resources to figure out exactly how Critical Force works?

This kind of data collection would bore most people to tears but it's what I enjoy doing most. I have fun figuring out a game's inner mechanics. I don't care about how strong I am or how strong anyone else thinks I am. I do care about game balance and leveling the playing field between buying OC and going purely free to play because at the moment the model is completely broken and will not allow Onigiri to survive.

I think that the power disparity between weapon types starts to fall off once players understand how to build, as there is some tweaking that needs to be done to builds. The flat sf route actually turns out to be the not completely efficient for most weapons, and players are encouraged to funnel their builds into niches for maximum output. This can be seen very clearly through basic mathematics.

However, as I've never actually played a fully geared version of every weapon, I have no right to really speak for specifics - my intention is only to state that based on general impressions, everyone is somewhat scaled in by the time we reach the current end game content.

Note that this assumes players get their hands on ougi and are geared to the teeth.

Without ougi, balance is quite literally, completely chucked out the window. Of course, this is a problem that C$ really NEEDS to address. In my opinion, they should really buff every class to have a above average non-ougi mob clear, and above average non-ougi single target burst skill.

Selling all of my gear for ~40% of its market value!
~4 lv. 108 to 115 weapons remaining
Some skill card 7's, ougi, orna'd maga and other stuff too!

Hm. I'm guessing your data collection includes assuming that power weapons = game on easy mode.

Just like how I'm about to assume that your data collection is a joke. I don't really care whether I'm right or wrong about your "enjoyment" being a joke, but when I make assumptions, I'm pretty sure I'm upfront about it.

Until very recently the only information anyone had to base their opinion on is what goes on in the Japanese version(which seems to be mostly Sword/Axe users annihilating everything as there are plenty of videos available and not one that I'm aware of in which non Power users come close to what those players are able to do) and current trends on our version(Sword users Thunder Beasting their way to victory. I'd love to see you attempt to deny that hadn't been the reigning first order optimal strategy for a long while.) No, I don't have the resources to turn a several month grind into a day of Yakumo farming and ten minutes of smelting or limitless 400% experience boosts to quickly reach the level required for the strongest weapons. It turns out things aren't as broken as I assumed. Still tilted, but not broken assuming you have the resources available to bring out the full potential of whatever weapon you choose to use. Apparently labeling your choice as "easy mode" has struck a nerve with you so I'll retract that statement as I said I would and you can get over it and go back to getting erections every time you weapon swap for another overpowered Ougi. Sound good? Neat.

There may or may not be exaggeration in this post.

Spears have always been more prominent than power weapons except in videos of level 108+ players. The popularity spike of power weapons in EN only came recently actually, as once power players passed the Kyoto area it became exceedingly hard to complete dungeons and grind with efficiency. This was due to the huge mob density that sudden appears in the Kaga-Echigo areas. The reason power weapons are coming back now is that the number of monsters in a given small area is much less and creating one large mob then wiping them all out at once (*cough* Water Dragon Spear *cough*) no longer worked efficiently. Power weapons (With potentially the exception of Oodachi) are mostly meant to be high dps on single target or exceedingly small mobs.

The only weapon type I'm not sure of regarding balancing between classes is wand. This is simply due to the fact I can't find a video of a level 108+ wand user and the wand user in our group is currently only level 106 (And on vacation for a bit more time). The other weapons have all found their uses in their individual niches and the weapons that dominated the early and mid game have lost a fair bit of their overall utility, so the majority of weapon types (As they near Satan and higher level weapons) has balanced out pretty decently.

That's all I really have to say about this.

Does Satan not have multi hit protection? Legitimate question.

As far as I know, he does not.

(I should do this quote thingy more often it's fun!)

You said it, current trends. You basically disregarded everything before that (the reign of h2o dragon and everyone was talking about changing to spear). During that time, all I could do with anything h2o with my axe was magikarp's "splash" with the risk of getting raped (Yes axe lacks range but I'm fine with that, it's a "kill or be killed" thing). And twin swords are able to do thunder beasts' breaststroke too, don't recall that being a power weapon. WITH TWO SWORDS TOO, THATS LIKE TWICE THE POWER OF ONE SWORD!!!!!!!!!1!!2!!3!!

And since you had to end your post like that (BECAUSE HEH HEH HEH MY PRIDE IS ON THE LINE HERE TAKE THAT INSULT FEEL PAINNN ON YOUR PENUS WHEN YOU USE AN OUGI), yes I'm happily having an erection... Just because I can. Unhappy that you're unable to get that ougi? Well I can. Sorry that while I got a nerve struck by an earlier post, you get a nerve struck everytime someone uses an ougi

Now you can carry on complaining like the world owes you a favor

I disregarded spears for two reasons: Tidal Wave is nice but it's far from required. WDS/Ice Blossom themselves are extremely powerful skills that synergized well with what used to be end game content. Second, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, Echigo/Aramitama lasted as end game content far longer than Kaga did. So you had an extremely accessible weapon on top for a relatively short period of time. If you're going to have imbalance that's probably the best kind to have.

I have nothing against people using Ougis. That would just be silly. It's the way the game is currently designed and people who want to pay to win will. I dislike the model, not the players. Don't insult my intelligence like I can't distinguish where the real problem lies.

As for that finishing comment I made it because you agreed with me in an earlier post about Onigiri being pay to win but you're suddenly down my throat because I implied something that would lessen the value of the validation you strive for by throwing so much money at the game. Keep it up though, I'm sure that void will be filled some day.
