Seeing how all f2p portals host their different games in sub directorys like this :

It seems to me that http://pandemonium.cyberstep.com is a different game than Onigiri, not his coming pvp part. And it seems logical to think that Cyberstep is not gonna put a lot of pvp modes in Onigiri, otherwise it would prevent pvp addicts to go on Pandemonium. Onigiri for pve oriented players, Pandemonium for pvp ones, thats the way i see it. But who knows, if Pandemonium become a failed project (it seems indeed very slow and boring in the video and not an action game at all), perhaps Cyberstep will drop this project and decide to put some cool pvp modes in onigiri instead.

As long as it stay optionnal and not needed for anything (i am a pve only player) i dont care if they do it.

That being said LanHikari, if you think that the devs here are greedy i assure you that you have seen nothing. There is way more greedy devs and f2p portals out there. In the game i come from you dont stand a chance in pvp if you dont put some hundreds dollars/euros in the cash shop, and you dont stand a chance in 90% of the high lvl pve content as well...

Although I think there's a chance that Pandemonium is a seperate game, we were told by GMs that the ETA on PvP was in two months... about a month and three weeks ago. Considering Pandemonium is the only thing Onigiri related that has had any form of a teaser/trailer at all, I think this is what they meant by PvP. I'll also bring up the fact that we were told that some skills were actually designed from a MOBA standpoint and adapted to the MMO we're playing now.

Of course, I could always be wrong.

Also, PVP is overrated, and not everyone wants it in. Not EVERY online game needs PVP to be successful. Also, the dev team knows what they're doing, they ARE the ones who have the knowledge on how an MMORPG is ran, unlike some people who just moan and complain that what they want hasn't been added.

If the dev team were greedy, this game would be pay to play. Quit whining.

I don't demand PVP.

Couple things:
1. The nankoropon is updated with recycled outfits from JP. There is nothing new in EN that devs are spending time on. You might as well complain on the JP community since new material starts there.
2. The prices in ENs cash shop are well reduced compared to JPs cash shop. It is still 200 OC for 5 rolls in JP. Other items are reduced in EN as well. One 100% 30 min exp boost is 80 OC where as three 200% 1 hour exp boost is only 38 OC. Min prices in bazar stalls are also higher in JP. I feel it is fair to say for EN players, that your version is far less a money pit.
3. I still don't understand how PVP exclusively will make or break a game.

Lol and this is why in that other pvp want thread, people were bashing and dismissing the idea of pvp in this game. I don't really think very many people have enough faith in this company to deliver a quality pvp system. Aaaand that video more or less confirms it.

Well, if this is the case then the trailer is very misleading. Wouldn't that make more sense to be shown a customized character like those we are playing, keyboard controlled, dodging and running quickly everywhere while launching tons of skills ? Instead of the partners moving and aiming slowly by clicking with the mouse on the ground ?

That and the sub domain seems really like to me to be a separate moba game with a different gameplay, but like you say i could always be wrong.

Pretty much this.
I mean, it's not just the lack of faith in solely Cyberstep either. If you've played enough MMORPGs that focus more on PVE than PVP, you know that no matter how good or committed the company is, it's nearly impossible to get a balanced/skill-cap orientated PVP without having PVE break it first. Let's say a non-MOBA type PVP was to be implemented in this game. Firstly, updates in PVE will always bring in stronger advancements to either jobs or skills, and thus it will require the devs to balance it upon PVP. Eventually, some skills will provide so much utility that people will begin complaining about how X skill or X class is absurdly OP. Not to mention, there's gonna be birth to an unneeded section of PVP elitists who will begin to treat the community and forums as if it's their own blog. Sooner or later, PVP will devolve into a part of the game where class will simply outdo skill regardless of how strong, or how hard you can read your opponent... and by then, it's probably already too late to fix and/or balance the game out. Go see Dragon nest or TERA PVP and you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about.

Put bluntly, if even the companies who've created big games can't implement a solid PVP system that doesn't get completely lobsided over time due to PVE, I highly doubt that C$ can do it either. Granted, there are VERY few exceptions to this kind of scenarios, but that usually happens because the game is more revolved around PVP mechanics than it is PVE (primary example being of such like Elsword or Grand Chase). I honestly think making the MOBA idea was a very smart approach to the unnecessary demand for PVP. It shows that they are aware that a "PVP" system in this kind of game simply won't work due to the game mechanics. I won't be making any calls here until I actually experience that pandemonium myself, but it's certainly much better than adding a crappy and imbalanced PVP system into a game like this.




As for OPs response to Nyankoropon, as rude as this sounds, just deal with it. It's what every MMO company will prioritize over the actual gameplay. Any MMO hosting company that's had it's taste of money will continue to be this way. Just be thankful that your costumes are permanent and not timed down by an expiration date. This should be a norm for people who've played MMOs for a long time.

Pretty much everything Moriya said is right. Also, the english section of this game doesn't have a whole lot of leeway with things it can change. They can tweak some numbers, swap an item for another one, hold events, whatever. The majority of their time is spent translating and implementing the new sections of the game that we haven't seen yet.

I don't think pvp in this game would be very good... the skills are just not balanced for it. I think the closest feasable thing would be like.. a team vs team time rush to clear challenges or something like that. Something where you compete against each other indirectly. Whether or not pvp is coming I don't know, but I'm not expecting very much from it either way.

Again stop comparing JP Server to this Server.. It's true that the Nyankoropon is definitely expensive in the JP Server.. But you should check their EXP.. It's way better than the EN version.. Where if you hit around lvl 60+, You need the help of every EXP Boost in the shop.. And the boost is only good for 1 hour.. Spending $3 just for a 1 hour boost.. That $3 could already feed me 1 McBurger.. Again.. Everybody is quitting because of the same scheme from our friends from Cyberstep.. It's also the same reason why their game CosmicBroken got Broke because of their greedy scheme.. Pay to Win.. HAH.. At least in CosmicBroken there is PVP.. Why not here? Reason... Because this game was rushed.. They wanted the Money ASAP so they released it without fixing the numerous bugs and glitches crawling in this game.. And didn't include PVP at all.. And For all PVE players, Let me inform you that there are more.. I said again.. MORE PLAYERS who wants a PVP based MMORPG Game than a PVE based Game.. Why won't you ask Players from Ragnarok which survived for more than 6 years just because of it's PVP System. Because the PVP System Works.. So either this Devs read this post or not.. Onigiri without PVP is doomed.
