Restoring Moon King to its former glory will be difficult since a harsh '
nerf decision' was decided by Game Masters of Onigiri. One could argue that previously +50 was far too much, as it matched up to
Ougi Rapidstorm and combined you were unstoppable. Thus the only way to go about this is to consider offering fair alternatives to the situation, that both Players and GMs can nod their head in approval.
One thing is for sure; Moon King was nerfed far to much and is the only [FREE] speed boosting alternative.
[Excluding the speed-buff title][Generous]
Moon King: +32 Speed/Duration 2:00 -5 Crit DebuffOr
[Fair]
Moon King: +26/Duration: 2:15 -3 Attack Speed DebuffOr
[Better than nothing]
Moon King: Increased Duration: 2:00------------------------------------------------------------------
Previously with +50/3:00 you were capable of running circles around enemies and dodging a majority of hits.
Moon King allowed you to avoid considering
(Ougi Rapidstorm) because of the significant speed-boost provided by MK. The nerf nudged you to spend money, or to earn the premium coin to purchase for (Ougi Rapidstorm) or else you will complete things quite slower than a non-paying player. One thing is for sure... our version of onigiri should have everything that benefits players in fair ways, if the original game designers wished for +50 then id say support.
I do not believe we will get a full revert for Moon King, but if you fight for a 'fair buff' that GMs can accept we the players would have better odds at getting it buffed.Instead of directing someone to sign a petition, you should instead direct them to the onigiri forums, and make a post where it matters most, which is inside this thread. It needs buffed!
We managed to get the weapon durability buffed up, and so we can get MK buffed up as well!
.....
There is no reason to attempt to "meet halfway." I believe you're coming into this and attempting to introduce ideas with a lack of prior knowledge.
First of all, the durability nerf was fully reverted, boosting us from 2k to 5k. There was no need to consider a "fair alternative" in that situation, because it was simply restoring things to a fair state. The same applies in this situation. I don't see how players could "nod in approval" when the nerf was utterly unjust in the first place.
First of all, rapid storm provides a default speed buff of 35. This is significantly less than what moon king was, and what it still is in the Japanese server. Rapid storm, however, scales with the player's attack stat, while moon king does not. This used to cause some players on the
Japanese server to move extremely quickly, which was indeed somewhat unfair as they could outrun projectiles and approach any monster before it spawned. However, this was when they achieved over 120 movement speed through the use of a specialized speed/sp support, and moon king in their fool's portion cup. However, this is no longer relevant as the speed cap was set to 85 to prevent abuse, meaning that the speed nerf is now utterly pointless.
That said, the maximum obtainable speed does not particularly allow you to run circles around monsters, and it cannot replace rapid storm, as not having both disallows you from achieving max speed. Furthermore, having a free alternative should pretty much be mandatory. It's simply impossible to perform certain actions on base speed, rendering some dungeons extremely hard for free to play players. One example is Hades, whose large ball attack cannot be outrun without one of the two speed buffs.
The duration nerf was also completely pointless. There's literally no reasoning behind it. A "fair buff" is simply bullshit. We deserve to have what players on other servers have. There's no reason to "meet halfway" when players on other servers have no need to do so.
Besides, moon king still takes up one of the player's precious alcohol slots, forcing them to put more consideration into which alcohols they want. Assuming that you run the standard chidori, along with one damage buffing alcohol, the player then must choose between one of the following, assuming they follow the meta:
- Moon King
- Additional Skill Force
- Resolute
- Feast of the Damned
Finally, the text that you have set in red demonstrates that you clearly have not been around here long enough to know what you're talking about in the first place. Posting on the forums does not actually attract attention. One such example was a forum post that had asked avatar item sales to be re-enabled, but it was ignored. This leads to the implication that things posted on the forum don't particularly matter. On the other hand, a prior petition, one to restore the durability cap, has evidently been implemented.
