@Penil: All of my characters carry a bow around in the event of a Goldaruma spawning, so I always have the capacity to do ranging. Naturally I spend some stat points on Dex to make using a bow worthwhile. If my method means spending two hours fighting a boss, that's fine by me. As long as I beat the boss I really don't care how long it takes. Thunderbeast is a good skill, but it's not perfect. You're not guaranteed to kill all mobs/bosses, and until it recharges you're vulnerable. If you run out of magic, you're also vulnerable. The way I do things, I can rethink my strategy on the fly, as it were. If I see that melee is no good, I switch to range and carry on. If I see their physical defence is insane, I switch to magic. Only one character I use has that much freedom though. My other characters aren't so free. This is the way I'm going to do things. I'm not asking you to like it or agree with it, but I do expect you to respect my decision.

Midori Tsukino's new look. Nyankoropon has been pretty good to me lately, spitting out less crap. The Skill Cards I'll hang on to for now, but the new outfit was greatly appreciated. Now if I can just get her some Angel Wings, preferably in green, that would be pretty damn awesome.

This probably works for now, and as you said, you're free to do whatever you want and whatever works. I guess people are just warning you that this won't work later on. As anyone who can carry who's over 100 will tell you, only focusing on one weapon type (and maybe, in the extremely rare case, 2 weapon hybrids-for the current content, anyway) is the only viable option. Mobs and bosses will get large hp jumps both after kusatsu, and at oushuu and given the dungeons lengths, you'll need to prepare a lot of weapons for the durability if you're not specialised. There's also the issue that some people experience dc's if they take too long clearing a dungeon (so you can't take two hours) and this happens after you kill the boss meaning that you would've wasted the whole duration. As with any advice, you're free to take it or reject it, but you'll be better off if you take it earlier since weapons aren't so easy to get later and you may not need a stat reset then.

everyone is trying to say it in a nicer way but I'm just going to just straight up and say it; IF you try to go hybrid you will straight up suck in the current content. You can do whatever you want but you will suck.

Sure you don't mind taking 2 hours to beat a boss, but trust me you won't say that when you're far enough in the story. Prolonging a fight means more room for mistake and each mistake will kill you. Back then I was a hybrid with bow and twin sword and it was impossible for me to beat Satan without changing my set because 13 chances is simply not enough for me back then with my horrible damage as a hybrid. So then I changed my set to bow only and I was able to defeat Satan with just 1 revive.

This is just opinion and if you can find people to tackle a dungeon in a party, it'll be much easier. What everyone is getting at here is warning with their own experiences, and trust me, there is absolutely no way of continuing the story further being a hybrid.

It's k ppls. It's his choice whether or not to take the warning. It's just game, right?

But do take heed of the warnings though, you will have a harder time killing things in the near future.

Good luck!

Yet another new look for Midori. I'm having a lot of trouble settling on anything, I guess maybe because I'm not sure what I'm after. Aside from green angel wings that is.

I will take the advice into consideration. Actually, if it's possible to have two accounts to the same email, then I might create a secondary account which focuses on more specialized characters. I'm curious as to how it'd work out, but in my experience the answer has always been "not well." Then again, what I need to remember is that Onigiri is a very different game to most MMOs I've played. *IF* I can create a second account, I'll experiment with specialization, but I make no promises. By which I mean I can't guarantee that I'll like it enough to keep it going long term. Bear in mind that I already have six characters, and I've finally got those ones spec'd out just how I like them.
