The New Gargoyles

Ok, after magma we got the lightning one, both of which hit very hard and drop one of the greatest items in the game thus far. While I really appreciate your efforts as software engineers in breathing life to this game with intriguing content, there are still a lot of qualms which can potentially ruin your great achievements.

What I'm referring to are the glitches, since beta. Since the game was released I've heard even.

Now, we might have grown accustomed over the years since we've been battling through dungeons without the energy restriction. But with one such as warding, it becomes a different matter entirely. I'm speaking of the nefarious curses glitch. One of the many glitches in the game, but is potentially the most frustrating. When a player dies and a portal emerges right next to dead player, the cursor malfunctions and ceases to move. Not only is it infuriating as the player will have to ask for a party kick or press alt f4 (provided the players with resurrection leaves the dungeon for another run), it is detrimental to player experience as loot is missed out on (in my case, it was a recipe, ryou boxes totalling 1m and a scale) and energy is wasted (in hell mode, that'll be 5 energies rest in peace.)

This game, as many critics have said, got great potential, and you graphic artists should give yourselves a round of applause for your expertise in three dimensional modelling (something I have come across as a first year engineer playing with Creo Parametric and Solidworks, but I know most likely, you guys would be using something completely different). The play style is unique and the fights are immersive, I can vouch for that. However, the execution of the code, needs more work.

Now that all my issues have been stated, back to the glitch I experienced in Levilance gargoyle. I'll be blunt - It ruined my run and drops, 1 energy and by the time I returned by pressing alt f4 because leader ignored my pleas for a kick and reenter, the party was full again because the leader did not reserve for me.

I do not wish to berate the game or rant about my loss (and the losses of everyone else who went through the same thing or worse such as getting glitch on hell mode just when they get a marrow) because I'm tired of criticisms and I guess we all are in regards to bug reporting. But once more, this issue comes to light due to the fact dungeons are restricted by energy. Henceforth, I will speak to you on the grounds of a software engineer. Yes, as programmers, not as an enraged customer yelling at the game makers; although in all honesty you do not really need a software engineer like me with the backgrounds of r, matlab, C sharp, C ++, Java and Python to tell you that your code needs work.

Currently, the company is financially struggling, despite its rigorous efforts to fund the game with more micro transactions. However, this needs to stop. To be successful you guys need to root out the problems in your game and code, rather than 'milking' the game for cash. Honestly, I would rather spend $15 USD per month membership fees on this game rather than seeing it thrive on micro transactions had the following been implemented:

- Fixing of bugs in the dungeons, including but not limited to:
Getting stuck in walls
Falling off fences
Falling through the floor
DCs
Cursor malfunctioning at the portal
Players suddenly being unable to attack most likely due to cursor malfunction similar to portal glitch mentioned aforehand.

- Parties should be able to enter a dungeon if new member joins
- Bazaars no longer taking 30% tax (Ok, keep bazaars. They are unique features that most games don't have)
- Bazaars accepting in game currency, ryou (Please, use ryou for trading between players. Oc and gacha tickets are
micro transaction only)
- We need player to player direct trading by right clicking (You really need to implement item trades)
- Buff Yoshitsune's smelting success
- Allow Nyankoropon items to be dropped in game (Not something like smelting amulet lucky, but smelting amulet
superb)

Once all these features have been implemented, I would gladly play this game on a membership basis of $15 USD per month. Which, while a bit costly some might think, is at least QUALITY game. In addition, you should take player feedback and suggestions for new content into consideration.

And as for fixing bugs:

When learning how to code in any programming language:

Rule number 1: ALWAYS comment each and every line of actual code. If you do not do that, there will be a mix up and confusion if anyone returns to your line of code to fix something. (I'm not sure if this rule has been broken when coding the game but it is very important to remember)

Rule number 2: Never EVER, release any content that has not been verified as foolproof via quality assurance done by debugging your script and testing outputs in the command window of whatever programming language you are working on. (It is evident this rule has been thrown out the window in your case).

I hope a mod looks into this and consider the changes I have mentioned as fellow programers.

Cheers.

I agree that some of these should be fixed, just some notes on my part.

This was intentional so that you wouldn't have a 5 man party doing Atake Hell 2 man (the drops are the same for hell regardless of pt size).

I wouldn't mind if there's still tax, but I think it'd be good to have 2-way trading instead of just "trust" based trading. If there was no tax on this, there'd definitely be a decline in the number of bazaars. Maybe limit tax-free trading to materials only?

I would prefer that weapon smelting have less rng in attack values but I don't think that the success rates are bad. They are what they are for this game and they're not too harsh eg. 5% at +90.

I'm guessing this is for p2p?

Hmm.. not sure if I would...

Just going to point out now that going subscription based would probably make 95%+ of players drop from the game. Plus, the glitches in this game don't warrant a switch to the subscription business model to be fixed and maintained... they already should be. When they notice a drop in revenue from the game, they'll decide whether it's worth the time to fix or if they'll just ignore it and milk the dying cow. They've fixed a few glitches and completely ignored others and that's just how it is. Complaining about it won't change anything. Just stop charging OC to get the message through. Either they'll give an update/fix a bug to generate more revenue or drop the game entirely in favor of more profitable venture.

It's like voting. Instead of yelling at the candidate about all he's doing wrong then voting for him anyways, yell at him and vote for the other guy. Don't throw money at them for not doing anything.

On a side note: As much as I'd love to White Knight for Cyberstep as I've seen plenty of worse companies, it doesn't excuse them from more or less giving the game the absolute minimum attention. Updates are (Were. They are currently at a good pace. Let's hope they keep it up.) slow and the game was completely ignored for 10 months at one point.

It would take a lot more than just those fixes to get me to subscribe. An improvement of the servers to reduce lag, for starters. Making attack/damage calculations client sided rather than server sided. A return of the channels, to help escape the Rifters. Some form of PvP (like a tournament type deal) or else PKing (assuming it can't be abused for mass griefing. Occasional kills are fine, but spawn camping someone 1% your level is not cool). More character customization options (I think I've seen about twenty players who all looked the same as one another, and these were high level ones, not just rookies). *Maybe* a minor improvement to graphics. Nothing much, but some monsters (like Yagyou-san) look pretty jagged. Like Playstation One kinda jagged. Guilds, or at the very least some form of in-game mailbox. If we had all of those as well as your suggestions, I'd have no objections to subscribing.

No to attack damage calculations on client side. Im fine with movement and guarding being client sided, but regardless they will be exploited in bugs anyway

pliss make trading, I got 42 character all with good sheit that I want to give to my main for free so I don't have to spend money. And make it so I can trade all my items including over 200 +300 dura tickets, dozens of gacha tickets, ougis, smelting buttons, bandaids, amulets, cudgels and magatamas, for free.
Thanks.
.
.
.
And that's why we don't have trading. If we did, you can say bye to every single lucky box or events with free items you'll ever hope to see in the future.
I guess I can't speak for everyone, but I like my free shit. I don't have any complaints about a 30% tax to sell things to my main.
But hey if this financially struggling company is willing to continue giving out free items and make tax free bazaars/trading, I'm all in.

Yea, this game needs an actual 2-way trading system; the trust based system is not a good thing for reasons that have been documented here (search this post "Kurusu Mitsu is a scammer" if you want to read a horror story). And it really would be nice if the tax was removed or at least reduced.

One of the biggest things that needs to be fixed imo is the drop rate. Really and seriously, it's too damn low. IDK about you but I don't have 24/7 to spend on Onigiri looking for 1 elusive magatama.

Cyberstep really needs to stop auto-inserting in chat that they are everyone's favorite company. Insecurities much CS? lol. OK so this is 1 very small thing, but I can't think of any other game maker that does this, and it really really really needs to go.

And yes, this is very like voting: complaining about the game and then spending $ on it..... um doesn't work. Refuse to spend money until the game improves (if you have spare cash to spend at all).

With C$'s recent mess-ups, I am fully convinced that they would let this game die before they try and patch it up and make the game how it's supposed to be. They are really making some dumb choices...

People still play this game (at least for me, not going to just speak for everybody but I know some people out there feel the same way I do) and spend money on this game not only because it is somewhat enjoyable, but because of the potential it has. This game could be sooooo great...and that's at least what I cling on to, hoping that they will make the simple choices for this game and let go of their greed. If you get past all of the darn loop holes in this game, it's REALLY enjoyable...and that is why I think people still play and pay for this game, but you have to put your foot down at some point.

They are taking advantage of that, evident by their choices. So I agree, hate to say it, but we just have to stop supporting the game until they make a decision. I doubt all of their other games would do great anyways. Like I've said previously, I doubt that this game has much life left.

I doubt they would consider anything at this point. RNG's need a major tone down in this game and friendship items needs to be acquired more easily. This game needs a MAJOR fix up, and I think they are just looking to get as much money as they can from it before it falls. It's sad.

Uhhh....... Friendship items are easy to get, i have literally 999 of each friendship item and it didn't take me long to do that either. They literally drop everywhere, even in event dungeons like christmas one. So idk what your doing wrong but you need to farm more.
