idc about the level rate, if it's 10x lower or even 20x, I don't really care. But at least fix the "recommended level" for dungeon.

I have played EN Alpha, and JP CBT and JP Official, so I can pretty much measure my strength through mobs in dungeons without having to look at my level compare to the mob's level. And being a bow user I can pretty much survive through most dungeons if I don't screw up. That's why I haven't grind a bit and have been advancing nicely through the story without grinding. However, those who are new to the game will be easily thrown off by the fact that they are asking u to go to a lvl 18 dungeon while u're still lvl 6. Most MMORPG doesn't require u to grind at least till level 30~40, and this game basically asking ppl to grind since level 1 which is unacceptable.

And then when they get to the "recommended level" the whole area will be too easy for them they can basically one hit everyone mobs and kill the boss easily. Pretty much anti-climatic and doesn't even worth all the grinding that they've been through. The disappointment alone will kill a lot of enjoyment for sure.

Oh and before u say anything, I used to play a lot of grinding-excessive (not even intensive anymore) including the traditional no-quest-just-grind games like MU Korean server which took me a whole month, 6 hours a day, to reach level 5. So ur argument about "u kids are just too used to the easy games, play some RPG and l2grind please" doesn't apply to me.

Finally somebody gets it. This isn't the first grinder game I've played. DDO is HORRIBLE for it, but at least there you get more quests than you do here. It just takes longer to level even one level. I wouldn't mind grinding, but as Aister said, grinding from level one is unacceptable.

Um no, I did NOT know the cap was 105. I didn't know what the cap was at all. I joined because the game looked good. I looked through everything and saw nothing about cap, or anything else for that matter. You want a grind game, go play DDO. Maplestory is crap, haven't played it, never will.

No exceptions, fix it.

No Sh*t Sherlock, There is a reason why the exp have been reduced. Bug testing, address a proper level to the dungeon, and so goes on...

Jarvan IV wrote:
Where is the clothing NPCs that gave me unique costumes in alpha she had an angel outfit on in the first town if i recall correctly?.

They've been replaced with some tongue monster that only offers the exact same garbage sets that all look ugly.
Wheres my bunny ears/angel wing/devil wings outfits, seriously how do you LOSE CONTENT going from alpha to beta???? .

Welcome to NA, Japan is over their JP website, have a nice day :D

for those who care to have all the starting set, it's a good thing. Concerning your Bunny Ears/Angel Wings/Devil Wings... it's probably stuff to buy IMO or Japanese exclusive

Jarvan IV wrote:
You can't skip cutscenes while in a party now so if you die and lose all three tokens you must now run back throw the dungeon and then hope you dont die while rewatching the same boring cutscene that you CAN NOT SKIP.

I agree for once, the cutscene CAN cause problems, if someone did the dungeon while the other didn't, the one who did the dungeon make the other 3 at risk to lsoe life and could possibly die DURING the cutscene... >.>

Jarvan IV wrote: I have no idea which marker is pointing to which quest.
I just blindly follow it hoping it leads me to the more higher exp/reward value side quests.

Just delete the quest that give you lwoer exp? no one is FORCING you to do them...

Jarvan IV wrote:The difficulty spike at sakurijima or w/e the hell its called is INSANE.
On top of horse shit exp gains for monster kills you have to fight 2 bosses in 1 area that both 1-2 shot you.
Are you serious?(due to being level 8 when I soloed this dungeon and spent 3 revives).

Hence why this is a BETA, TESTING DIFFICULTY ... if you are a lvl idk 30 that trying to solo a dungeon lvl 44, don't Wonder why you sh*t brick

Jarvan IV wrote:And hit boxes...
Idk what to say about them, I've dodged and after the dodge animation ends I get hit and just die.
lol.
I'm not sure our dodge has I-frames so that could be the reason (honestly I don't know so I can't be sure to be upset or just blame myself for lack of skill/positioning poorly)

Get better internet? thoguht yeah some skill shot REQUIRED movement speed bonus, if not, GG

Jarvan IV wrote:Weapons
The whole point of the game is to improve your weapon/character as you go along.
Guess what? That level 5 dungeon just dropped a level 20 (required to use) gold wep that you indentified
That sounds great BUT I CANT USE IT lol

Hey, better that than nothing.

Jarvan IV wrote:Also if you choose daring you should have a higher percentage chance to find great axe/great sword/long sword rather then me finding staffs and bows and all this stuff I can't trade to anyone else anyway because theres no trading system (STILL DESPITE ALPHA PLAYERS ASKING FOR IT)

Again, this is still in Beta, teh coding to transcript the Trading method from JP to US could possibly varies, hence why they don't have it yet, of course, there is still time until that happen.

OverAll, i note that your jimmeis are rustled as hell, cognratulations!!!

On py part, i hope that EXP RATIO JP:US 10:1 will be fixed soon. ;_;

PS: I will tell Shyvana about this. For a king to act such like a "kid with jimmies rustled" is INAPPROPRIATE, go learn back ya manner.

The most bizarre part of this is how people keep conflating grinding with difficulty. Platinum games are hard. Bullet hell shooters are hard. Running the exact same dungeon over and over dozens of times a day isn't hard, it's literally killing time in a skinner box. I suppose the edgelords making the proposition that people need to git gud would also consider drinking a two liter of mountain dew in one sitting on par with Dante Must Die.

This game seemed kinda neat when I started out, like a kinda janky version of Tera boned PSO2 on a bad day and left the kid with their parents to raise. Sure, it didn't have guilds, or the ability to map your keys, and the world is made of roads surrounded by invisible walls, and the enemy AI is really arbitrary and ineffectual, and there's clipping all over the place, and the graphics kinda suck, and the character creation is strangely limited, and it's kind of gross that they'll let you charge for game coins before there's anything to buy, but whatever, I was bored. It's not hard at all though. The reason I can't get to Kyoto isn't because of the overwhelming difficulty of dodging attacks without I-frames, because if you're even a little smart you can just not be under an enemy when they swing. The problem is that my bow literally breaks from shooting that fucking statue. I got so tired of that stupid eyeball thing in a prior dungeon that I just died and let my partner kill it while its AI was off and resurrected to deal the finishing blow, which turned out to be like twelve more swings of my sword anyway. Out of curiosity I picked up a wand, cast one spell and noticed I was totally out of mana, but I can do eight or nine sword techs in a row and still have half my MP left. I want new content out of this game, but I SS ranked literally every dungeon I had access to on every difficulty I could and couldn't get over level 15 from having done it, and until I clear these stupid bosses the gates to new areas are locked, so even though I could easily survive there I'm not allowed to try. I actually hit the upgrade cap on every weapon I own, even ones I don't use, because feeding a lv25 weapon to a lv5 one is surprisingly effective in terms of making the bar go to the right until it dings, but it still doesn't make a wooden sword competitive against enemies five or six times its level and twice my own.

It's not about difficulty, numerical balance in this game is just totally fucked, and if you can't get the numbers right the whole game falls apart.

Can I make this into a thread for ranting?

It's on the current version of Momotarou's Skill Evolution and Skill Extraction. Getting the weapon you want with the skills you want is already heavily RNG based, but to make skills on weapons evolution capable dependent on RNG is too much. Make it enhancement locked (+20~40+ weapons only) or make evolving maxed skills take gold. Same with Skill Extraction, making the skill you've extracted replace a random skill on your equipped weapon is plain dumb; make the extraction cost more or lock it to certain ranked skills (III and up). And to add to that, that skill you've maxed and extracted seems to also have an RNG whether or not it would be evolution capable. Seriously. What.

The current version of these two features is making me feel dread that there's going to be cash shop items to eliminate the RNG on these (Make your weapon Skill Evolution capable for only $x!). I really, really hope that it won't come to that.

I really like this game, and I don't mind the grind for getting the weapons you want, but discovering that you have at least 3 or more layers of RNG to get what you really want doesn't make me feel I'll get past the casual stage.

Also, I know you can evolve skills via smelting, but you can only do that on the lowest leveled skill; barring that, one of the 3 equal level skills you have. I have no idea what the enhancement cap is, but if you suppose that: at +10, you have a weapon with 3 equal level skills, you would only be able to level each of them 3 times by the time you hit +100. Momotarou can theoretically get you from I -> V (or more) if you've maxed all the ranks of the previous skills.

This is so.... ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

/endrant

Can the OBT/Official Service Momotarou Skill Evolution get it's old function in Alpha or at least a middle ground from this RNG hell, please? Q-Q

I don't know why ppl keeps arguing about the exp rate, any sane brain will obviously see that there's something wrong there.
The exp is so low that the character can't even keep up with the content that's is supposed to be arround his level.
I would be fine having the same rate than jp servers, seing how the game will get harder after the kyoto cap, but making it lower than jp with a populations that is even less inclined to grindfests is just completly stupid.

Oh and retarded guys who keeps saying useless things like "lel gam iz ez go maple story fgt" obviously aren't able to see the real issues, it doesn't matter anyway that you guys like grinding or find it easy, there just should'nt be any until midgame content ,and grinding is far from being hard, doing the same thing over and over just needs time not skillz.
But anyway ,what runs the games isn't nerds who like grinding 20h a day to get half a level, more than half of the player base is casual, wich means half the player base will just leave the game seeing how you'll die of old age before achieveing lev50.

I do hope this drunken rate is due to the CBT and not some nasty money grab attempt with exp tickets, seeing how the game will be p2w enough, that's basicaly making it p2p since you can't enjoy any content without growing beards on grindfests.

TwylyteKyss wrote:That's absolutely terrible. Maybe they should think about hiring new employees. Ones who actually care about their players and the game. If it wasn't for the players, people who run the game wouldn't have their job. That would be like us running a register at a store and completely ignoring the customer. I don't think they would appreciate it if they were the customer and we ignored them. One of these days the players will have enough and leave.

I personally like the game, but I do not like the lack of professionalism from the staff. I'm beginning to wonder if it's even worth sticking around and finishing closed beta. I'm not going to run around mindlessly grinding in dungeons for the next five levels just to be able to complete a very overpowered dungeon. It's not worth the effort. I'm not the type to party up. So I will need some sort of incentives to stay.

They're actually quite fun people. I personally like the more casual GMs.
