I think I'd enjoy a 20 hour game over a 200 hour game with 20 hours worth of content.

Fair enough, but I feel as if that would just be a console game, and not really an mmo in that case.

Ignoring the exp rate discussion I must admit that Onigiri does actually feel more like a console game than an mmo to me. Sure you can party and chat with others but you can also go completely solo and some of the features really common to mmo games are not present or are only minor.

Its a bit of both, honestly. (Which is why its getting a PS4 release.)

But, unlike a typical console game, it has less replay value (for the same character), because your character will outscale lower leveled dungeons drastically, which is why its fine to take it slower imo.

Alpha had exp rates that did not require any grinding.

^This. Alpha exp rates were really close to if not exactly the same as the JP rate. No grinding at all and you didn't start falling behind the levels of dungeons until mid-late Kyoto or so. If you actually played alpha and got bored of "grinding" around level 5 you should just stop playing MMO games period.

I want the exp rate raised at least a bit simply because I don't like large amounts of grinding. Boring and time consuming for me. Not to mention even with JP rates you will start falling behind anyway. Then again you don't actually need to grind in this game since the quests are not being dicks by blocking you off with a minimum level. The low exp rate + high level dungeons are probably pretty brutal for new players though as it makes the game very unforgiving which could cause a lot of new players to quit.

I want it raised from 1/5 to 1/4, but that's about it. With a slow rate, we get much more time to explore what are the possible weapons and what are the good strategies given good skills. If this section is rushed, no one is going to give a shit and just blitz to the end, and by then you have a bunch of dumb players with an undeveloped sense of what's possible with the system.

This may be a grinding game and in this modern era of mmo gaming where grinding is a lazy, outdated method to prolong content, it only works if the game is fun in the process.

Farming the same dungeons/bosses/enemies over one hundred times just to get 12% exp is NOT FUN, but rather REPETITIVE.

The new way to "grind" is more rather farming for items. If this game does emphasize grinding and leveling just for you to progress, this game will be another Flyff in no time.

People like to be rewarded, and grinding is not rewarding, especially with the content in this game.

I for one am happy. It could be slightly higher, but a slow rate means more figuring out the finer parts of the system.
